Treatment & Experience
-
Most people don't feel the microcurrent at all. Sessions are gentle and relaxing, and many clients choose to close their eyes, rest, or even nap during treatment.
-
During treatment, small sensors are placed on your scalp, face and/or neck to monitor brainwave activity. A tiny microcurrent is delivered for just a few seconds while you relax comfortably. Your first appointment typically lasts 2 hours and includes your consultation, assessment, and first treatment. Follow-up visits are usually 30–45 minutes.
-

No. Microcurrent Neurofeedback is not Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), commonly known as "shock therapy." It uses an ultra-low signal (equivalent to 3 trillionths of a watt) to gently support your brain's natural ability to restore balance.
-
No. Unlike traditional talk therapy, there is no need to relive difficult memories or actively participate during treatment. Many clients appreciate that they can simply relax during their sessions. However, Microcurrent Neurofeedback can also be used to complement the work of a licensed mental health professional. By supporting the brain's natural ability to restore balance and self-regulate, MCN may help individuals become more receptive to therapy and participate more fully in the therapeutic process when appropriate.
Results
-
Every person responds differently, but many clients report noticing changes within the first few sessions. Your treatment plan and progress will depend on your individual goals and how your brain responds over time.
-
Treatment is personalized for every client. Many people complete approximately 20 sessions over a period of 6–8 months, though recommendations vary based on your goals and progress.
-
Every person defines success differently, so individual results vary. For some, success may mean sleeping through the night or feeling calmer. For others, it may mean significant improvements in focus, emotional regulation, or quality of life. New research reveals that IASIS MCN neurofeedback has a promising success rate of 95%. This means that 95% of neurofeedback sessions will yield the desired results.

Your care team will work with you to track progress throughout your treatment.
-
Progress will be measured by tracking your self-observation and with Brain Gauge progress reports. Before each session you'll answer a series of self-observation questions with a ranking of 0-10. Then 24-Hours after your session, you'll respond by answering the same questions with the 0-10 ranking. You'll also do a Brain Gauge baseline assessment at the beginning of your treatment program, and will do QuickCheck assessments along the way to track progress - concluding with final Brain Gauge assessment.
